Prepare the Cheesecake Filling
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined, about another minute.
- Gently fold in the crushed Oreos until the mixture is thick yet easily scoopable.
Create the Oreo Sandwiches
- Place a small dollop of the cheesecake filling on top of each Oreo cookie.
- Gently press another Oreo on top to create a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining Oreos.
Prepare the Coating
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until smooth.
Coat the Oreo Sandwiches
- Dip each Oreo sandwich into the flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Then, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally, back into the flour mixture for a second coating.
Fry the Oreo Sandwiches
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the coated Oreos into the hot oil, working in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Transfer the fried Oreos to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve and Enjoy
- Dust the warm deep-fried Oreos with powdered sugar and sprinkle additional crushed Oreos on top if desired.
- Serve immediately while still warm.
