Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes with a hand mixer.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples gently.
Cinnamon Sugar Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
  2. Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter.
  3. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
